Jotun High Temperature Coatings
Jotun uses high- temperature coatings for protection against damage to surfaces operating at high temperatures that require prolonged damage protection. It is suitable for both insulated and non-insulated surfaces. Jotun High Temperature Coatings such as Epoxy HR, are resistant to temperature up to 205 degrees Celsius, it can be applied in three ways (a primer, mid coat or finish coat). Any paint that normally works up to 400 degrees at high temperature can be called high temperature paint, but if applied to a pipe that gets up to 1000 degrees it will not give you the best performance. Paint contains inorganic materials such as ceramic and silicon, which can cause them to overheat. The reason they can withstand more extreme temperatures is the presence of inorganic substances contained in them.
30 minutes is enough to dry it to the touch, 1-2 hours is enough to handle and dry, after 1 hour; you can repaint at any time. Once dry, the high heat should be further cured to increase the yield.
Many high temperature stove paints that do not require additional primer for most indoor applications are self-priming. So the high temperature paint does not need a primer. However, in rare cases (outdoor use, and extremely humid weather), a high temperature primer may need to be applied prior to painting. There are different types of high temperature coatings available in the market today.
